Harvest
I have roots in the earth I have watched them seep into water I have travelled with the clouds to talk with birds still part of sky's darkness I have watched crops grow in paddy fields where I have been nourished with the river I have swerved back and forth into sleep I have lived in a cave where I saw the sun come to greet me and spent time discussing the limits of freedom I have grown into branches of yellow apple trees and lived in seeds that spill into harvest.
